seven teller / what are the chances?
new album out on 2/20/2026
What Are The Chances? is Seven Teller’s first self-produced studio album, and is set to be released on February 20th, 2026. All the songs were written, recorded, and mixed by frontman Sam Cochran at a warehouse in Baltimore. This album marks a creative leap for the band and a new stylistic direction altogether. The title track “Chances” delves into synth-pop, while songs like “Last Nite” serve a raw dance-punk ethos, and “Reality” leans into krautrock and psychedelia.
Lyrically speaking, Sam breaks new ground as a songwriter on What Are The Chances? His songs poke fun at modernity and our humanity; going beneath the surface on themes of love, friendship, urbanism, an oversaturated music industry, and political uncertainty.
In support of their new album, Seven Teller is going on tour in 2026 across the country, with album release shows set in New York City, Baltimore, and Washington D.C., as well as releasing performance videos, a LE vinyl release, music videos, and going on media campaigns.
More about the band:
Seven Teller is the art-rock brainchild of Baltimore musician and songwriter Sam Cochran, who started the project in 2020. A blend of post-punk, dance, and psych-rock music nourishes the band’s unique, immersive sound. After several big releases and national tours, Sam has sought to re-imagine the band’s sound with steady releases throughout 2025 and a full-length expected in 2026. Seven Teller is expanding the norms by creating music that’s reminiscent of acts like LCD Soundsystem, Talking Heads, and CAN, while still performing live shows that showcase deep improvisation, referencing their roots in the jam scene and early influences like Phish and Lotus. Seven Teller has featured sit-ins from Cotter Ellis (Goose), Jake Brownstein (Eggy), and Eli Winderman (Dopapod).
